       "The more corrupt the state,

                         the more numerous the laws."

                                                            - said by a Roman historian, lawyer and senator Publius Cornelius Tacitus.

The aim of this section is to simplify and clarify the law, consciousness and environment.

Do we know our basic human rights and freedoms, respect and defend them?

In the section on Law, we investigate and analyse the confusing labyrinth of paragraphs. Using concrete examples, we are looking for solutions and ways out of the most difficult to solve situations that arise in the areas of law-making and enforcement.

The basic idea of law lies in the fact that the law is to help to ensure the fair functioning of society, to limit the behaviour of society through the acts of law, rules, regulations and decrees that arise to ensure that important moral and ethical values are not violated.

This section provides information about what kind of rights we have or do not have under current legislation.

But let's face it, don’t we already have too many acts of law? Are these acts clear, meaningful, effective and fair to all? How could it be that our fundamental human rights and freedoms are so often violated and abused and what should we do to get them back?

We realize that we, the citizens, are forced to take care of ourselves when the official state structures do not work the way they should. We know that freedom and democracy must be actively pursued.

 Main topics of the section

  • What does the concept of democracy mean and how do we understand it?

  • Do we really live in a democratic world, in a democratic country?

  • What does the concept of the rule of law mean? And do we really live in the rule of law state?

  • What are our rights and what are our responsibilities? What are they anchored in?

  • What is the difference between a formally legal and substantively legal state?

  • How could it be that our fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed in international treaties are being increasingly violated?

  • Examples of concrete cases of violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms and suggestions or examples of possible remedies.

  • What can everyone do by himself/herself and what can we do together for a fairer world?

  • How to create civic surveillance and supervision of legislation and legal professions in the most exposed sectors of interests in society (Citizens' Tribunals, Civil Legislative Intelligence)
